Do You Have Sciatica?
If you are experiencing pain that radiates from the back or buttocks, all the way down the legs, you may have a common condition called sciatica. Many people in Allen suffer with the pain of sciatica, and many never achieve a long term solution. An untreated sciatic condition can continue to worsen and make the daily tasks of living go from difficult to impossible. We are here to help you to understand sciatica, and explains how chiropractic treatment can help you to overcome it.
Sciatica in Allen
Do you have low back pain? Do you have shooting pain down one or both of your legs? Have you been diagnosed with sciatica or sciatic nerve pain? This is a miserable pain to suffer with and one that we can help you get over!
Treatment for sciatica is one of the most common reasons people seek out Chiropractic care, physical rehabilitation, or pain management. Not many things stop you in your tracks as quickly as that shooting pain down your leg or the “locked up” feeling in your low back. Through exercise and physical therapy we work to give you relief from that unique and pervasive sciatic pain.
The sciatic nerve extends from your low back, through your hips and buttocks and down into each leg. There are so many areas a subluxation (a bone out of place) can affect this nerve and cause you pain—a pain that demands relief by any means necessary. Through gentle adjustments and exercises focused directly on the sciatic nerve pathway, we can help you align the bones in your low back and get the pressure off that sciatic nerve.
We have also had success treating sciatica with our decompression tables. These tables use weight and tension to gently stretch your back and remove the pressure from the sciatic nerve.
Imagine: you come to Tree of Life, spend some time relaxing and stretching, and the next thing you know that leg pain is gone and you can move more freely than you have in years.
Our favorite experience with treating sciatica comes from a long-time patient. When she started see us, she had been suffering with sciatic pain down both legs for over 30 years. She was a young mother and slipped and fell, hurting her low back. Well, being a young mother with three children under five, she simply got up and continued on (any moms out there understand that?) and suffered with sporadic symptoms for too long. She came in to Tree of Life and started receiving treatments to relieve that lifetime of pain that she had simply dealt with. In a very short time, she noticed that she wasn’t having pain shooting down her legs. Just a little bit more time and she realized that she was able to move more freely. Now, more than five years after her first treatment, she is STILL pain free. Her only regret was not coming to see us sooner.
